Guest Speaker: Pastor Jeff Hyun

We are delighted and honored to have a familiar and dear friend, Jeff Hyun, to be our guest speaker for our retreat.  Jeff is the founder of Barnabas & Co. - a ministry that aims to come alongside Asian American pastors and ministry leaders in order to encourage, strengthen, and provide care for their souls.  He is married to his beautiful wife Stella and together they have three beautiful children - Emily, Elijah, Elena.

Save the date! Our annual Gospel Revolution will be January 17-19.
Dinner will be provided Friday 1/17 & Saturday 1/18 at 6:00pm. Worship starts from 7:00pm in the Vision Chapel (Friday) and in the Gym (Saturday). Childcare will be provided.

The theme this for our Gospel Revolution will be “Christ-Centered” and we have a special Guest Speaker: Reverend Joel Kim.

Guest Speaker: Reverend Joel Kim

Rev. Kim has taught New Testament at Westminster Seminary California since 2005 and in May 2017 was appointed as the fourth president of WSC. He previously taught at Calvin Theological Seminary and International Theological Seminary in Los Angeles, as well as in Taiwan and Indonesia.

Rev. Kim is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and has served as a pastor in several churches in Michigan and Southern California since his graduation from WSC in 1997. As the son of a Christian Reformed Church minister, he was catechized with the Three Forms of Unity from childhood. Born in South Korea, his family moved to Southern California when he was nine years of age, where he would learn English and retain his fluency in speaking the Korean language. He has served the global church through agencies like Southeast Asia Partnership, and, among other notable leadership services, he chairs the Candidates and Credentials Committee of the Korean Southwest Presbytery of the PCA. Among his publications, he co-edited Always Reformed: Essays in Honor of W. Robert Godfrey (2010). His Ph.D. studies in Historical Theology were with the noted scholar Professor Richard A. Muller at Calvin Theological Seminary.

Rev. Kim and his wife, Sharon, have a daughter and a son and reside in Escondido, where his family attends New Life Presbyterian Church.

Bethel Grace Church will be going on a summer missions trip to Japan, July 19-30.

Details:
We will work with Missionary Joshua and Esther Kang serving the local community in Tokyo, Japan. This trip will focus on teaching English and VBS.

Bethel Grace Church will be going on a summer missions trip to the Philippines, June 29-July 11.

Details:
This Summer Mission takes place in the Philippines. This team will minister to the local community mainly through praise and worship. 

Places we minister at include schools, churches, prisons, and rural areas. Responsibilities of this mission trip include (but are not limited to): leading worship, being a part of the worship team through singing, instruments, and dance, as well as interacting and relationship-building with locals. 

*Disclaimer: Must be in good physical condition to withstand and be effective in daily transportation, equipment loading/unloading, setting up, and tearing down in mainly hot and humid weather.

Application deadline: Monday, February 3, 2025.
